     Periodically I surf other personal finance sites to find interesting and useful articles.  Here are the five best articles I’ve come across recently:

1. Pinyo at Moolanomy brings us 1,001 Money Saving Tips and Ideas. One of my favorite tips he provides is negotiating. An example of negotiating that I highly recommend is asking for 10% off the next time you take your car in for service. Pinyo highlights hundreds of other examples.

     Periodically I think about ways to make more money.  One idea I consider every now and again is getting a second job. Currently, I work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday at my primary job. If I took a second job I could reasonably work another 20 hours a week. My new, 60-hour work week would look something like this:

     Here’s another batch of five interesting and useful articles I’ve come across lately:

1. PT at Prime Time Money provides you with 52 Ways to Make Extra Money. Some of the more interesting ways he lists include selling yourself online, putting stuff on consignment, and renting out a room.

2. Staying on the theme of making extra money, Erik at MoneyCrashers talks about ways to Make Extra Money While You Are Looking For a Job. My favorite suggestion is working for a temp agency. I worked temp jobs during college summers and parlayed a temp job into a full time gig with the client.
